Our team will work closely with schools to assure and monitor alternative education provision for children disaffected in the normal school setting.
The Alternative Provision Commissioner will support schools to commission, quality assure and monitor alternative provision as part of their strategy to improve attainment for those students disaffected from school.
We also work closely with the Haringey Tuition Service, which is an integrated service that incorporates medical needs PRU and Tuition Service for pupils awaiting a school place. Learners are taught in a variety of settings according to need. These include the Tuition Centre, pupils' homes, public buildings (such as libraries) and local schools. Referrals are received for students with a variety of complex medical, emotional and learning needs and the purpose of the provision is to help the young people return to the appropriate educational setting at the earliest opportunity.
